Georgia and Emma's Story
I met Georgia during my first week of work as an Animal Care Technician at our local animal shelter, and it was love at first sight. I was going through a difficult time in my life and experiencing a lot of anxiety. I was immediately drawn to Georgia because she was nervous and shy, just like me. She would sit in her kennel and shake, and when I first adopted her, she panicked during every car ride and experienced extreme separation anxiety when I was gone.
I slowly gained her trust, and she now sleeps next to me under the covers every night. Georgia has been a faithful companion during some of my best and worst moments. I don’t know what I would do without her.
She enjoys long walks around the neighborhood, chasing squirrels, hiking, exploring the trails of Shenandoah National Park, and the occasional trip to the ice cream truck for a vanilla “pup cup.” She always greets me with kisses and a wagging tail, giving me something to look forward to at the end of a long work day. Georgia is a one-of-a-kind furbaby, and I am proud to be her dogmom!
