Josephine and Kate's Story
My baby German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix Josephine and I were brought together completely by chance. On my second day at a brand new job with a local construction company, one of our foremen came into our main office clutching a tiny, shivering little pup. He said that his team had found four, weeks-old puppies abandoned on the side of a back country highway in a plastic box.
Her other litter-mates were taken home that evening, but she remained behind. I held her that first day, while we located a shelter or foster home that could take her last minute - but after only a few seconds the little caramel colored puppy had me hook, line and sinker, and I knew I couldn't let her go.
Despite the traumatic circumstances she was found in, little Jo was in good health at barely five weeks old. After a round of dewormers, warm food, and a baby blankie to cuddle up in, Jo's personality began to shine through. She tumbled around on her stubby little legs and chewed everything in sight. She wriggled her way into not only my heart but my boyfriends' and my family's hearts too.
Jo is now over a year old and makes every day brighter, livelier and filled with the unconditional love and loyalty that only a puppy can give. She loves the beach, chasing birds, and playing with her fellow German Shepherd best-friend, Brutus.
We enrolled her in puppy classes and she quickly mastered all sorts of tricks, commands and obedience training. She still has a sassy little mind of her own and lives for her favorite Pupperoni treats. She's the best cuddler, playmate and adventure buddy. Josephine has truly changed our lives and we love her to the moon and back!
